GAME looks to scrap its ‘no quibbles’ returns policy

Posted on Friday 16 June 2006

According to the MCVUK website, GAME are reportedly in the process of scrapping their 10 day no questions asked game returns policy.

GAME’s controversial ten day returns policy, known as its ‘free rental service’ amongst many gamers, appears on the verge of being phased out.

The retailer has confirmed to MCV that a number of stores are currently trialling the new scheme which sees the ‘10 day’ scheme replaced with a more traditional 28 day return – but the game can only be returned on the condition that the game is unopened.

GAME will place its own seal on boxed product, and exchanges or refunds will be refused if this seal is broken. The move is believed to have been the result of growing pressure from publishers.

Not good news seeing as that is the only reason that I would ever buy a game from GAME.
